Stonebriar Announcements
"Stonebriar
Community Church exists to celebrate and share the love of God as we grow
together to become fully-devoted followers of Jesus Christ."
"The measure
of a man is not what he speaks, but rather what captures his heart and moves him
to action"
Feeding the Homeless: Thanks to all who continue to participate in
ministering to the homeless. Many have been prayed for, testimonies have been
shared, food, clothing and toiletries have been distributed, hearts are touched,
and God smiled…The next opportunity to minister will be Sunday, April 27th. God
bless you as you as you continue to serve Him in this life-changing ministry!

Adult Study Group: Each Sunday
morning at 9:45 AM a group of adults come together in "The Gathering Place" for
a time of fellowship and Bible study. It is a wonderful opportunity to
dive deeper into God's Word in an informal atmosphere, catch-up on the
happenings of the week and enjoy time together as we learn. This group is
facilitated by Pastor Scott and offers new insights into Biblical truth.
There's always a fresh cup of coffee and generally something with refined sugar
and white flour (donut) to eat! For the next few months we will continue
in the study of the book of Isaiah - this week in Chapter 22. Join us
next Sunday at 9:45 AM! Come Expectantly!

mission’s trip but never had the opportunity, money or time? Well, have we got
good news for you! God willing, on June 14 - 21, 2008,
we will be ministering in Guatemala!
As God leads and provides, we will be holding a Vacation Bible School, working
on a construction project, offering teaching to the local pastors and
lay-leaders, and conducting medical missions. So far, the following Stonebriar
Members have been called to go: Jeri and Jim Veenstra, Billie Jones, Judy
Kolumber, Mack Conley, and Scott Ptak.

Wednesday Night Adult Study Series Continues This Week - Study in the
Gospel of
John: The Study in the
Gospel of John continues this Wednesday night. This informal teaching and
discussion is facilitated by Pastor Scott and it is a great time to ask those
questions you've always wanted to ask, have some outstanding time in fellowship,
and an awesome time of prayer. Ask anyone who has been with us what is going on
and you will hear that God is doing something extraordinary. It is a God-thing -
come be a part of it this Wednesday.
As always, childcare is provided, and personal ministry is available after the
service. We hope to see you there!

Men of Stonebriar Prayer Ministry: Men, join
us Saturday, April 19th, for prayer. This
time together continues to grow - both in numbers, and, most importantly, in
relevance, as we meet together to pray for our personal relationship with
Christ, matters of the church, and for each other. We meet at 7:00 AM at the
church. Come and go as you are able. This has quickly become one of the
highlights of church-life for some of our men - it is worth the effort!

Military Members /
Family Members:
God has provided
a wonderful opportunity for us to minister to those from our church family
serving our country in the military. We have three young men who are currently
on active duty who would love to have notes of encouragement, goodie packages,
emails, etc. It’s important they know they are not forgotten. There is a sheet
on the Information Table in the Foyer that lists the names, physical and email
addresses, etc. Please take a moment to pray for these men and, as God leads,
encourage them through your notes and cards.

Prayer Ministry - God
is moving through prayer at Stonebriar. We are seeing an increased desire
for intense, specific, and meaningful prayer at Stonebriar - and we are seeing
the results of that prayer. Join with us on Sunday mornings at 8:30 AM as
we gather for prayer for the worship service. We meet in the sanctuary and
would love for you to experience this with us.

Adoption of Guatemalan Children: Stonebriar
has given birth to twins! A girl Erminia Oloroso Perez, and a boy, Andres
Oloroso Perez. They belong to a Christian family of 8 that live in a palm hut.
The father Guadalupe Oloroso does odd jobs around the village trying to earn a
living doing whatever he can. He earns approximately $6 per week / $25 per
month......many months not even that. That works out to less than a dollar a day
to feed 8 people! The mother's name is Soila Perez de Oloroso. More
information, and hopefully pictures, will be coming in the next few weeks.
Thanks for extending yourselves to this family. We hope to one day visit with
them in person either here in the States or in Guatemala. Stonebriar’s monthly
obligation to assist this family is $60.00. Please pray for God to touch Erminia,
Andres, Soila and Guadalupe. If you would like to financially assist
this family, please make out a check to Stonebriar and in the memo section
write: Guatemalan Children. Thanks!
