Community - Connecting & DoingThe Final Leg of the Vision God has Given to Stonebriar This page is dedicated to many outreaches and ministries of the Stonebriar Community Church. There are more than two dozen opportunities for ordinary people to get involved, make a contribution, and further the kingdom of God, transforming their own lives in the process. What is a Ministry? Why are they important?Christianity involves more than just learning facts and studying God's word. It involves people. It involves surrounding yourself with people who challenge and reinforce you, as well as touching people who can benefit from the Good News through your life. It means committing, however simple, to something that stretches you and allows God to work through your life and transform you. "Ministry" at Stonebriar means something you do to contribute back to the kingdom of God from your own life experience. Once you are established as a believer, you need to take the next step and become involved in committed way, or you will always remain at a certain level of maturity & experience. Take that next step. The very people you help might someday come back and bless your socks off. You don't have to become a member of Stonebriar to join a ministry, but you might enjoy that, too. List of ministries at Stonebriar Community Church. How are Ministries related to Small Groups? In general, ministries are permanent, ongoing needs for vital functions, services, and outreaches. Many ministries also function as Small Groups and host classes, thus serving multiple functions. As we develop, Small Groups at Stonebriar Community Church will have a specific function to encourage you to create a personal support and study network. Most will meet in homes. Some will be theme-based (such as "musicians"), some are location-based (such as "Chattanooga").
